BABIES: 30 minutes once a week (Adult attends with child)
I knew we needed to get out of the house, but I wasn’t sure which activities my 9 month old son would really take to and enjoy. We booked a Free Introductory Babies Class and immediately enrolled – he just loved it so much!
My son loves the singing, bouncing, dancing and the drums. Oh, the drums! The CD and instrument kit are such high quality and I have heaps of great ideas for musical play at home. Our Musikgarten Babies Classes is the highlight of our week plus we’ve made lots of new friends too!
The Materials Fee is $80.00 and the materials are used for terms 1 & 2. You get a fabulous CD, a parent song/activity book and a cloth instrument pouch with the Musikgarten rhythm sticks, shaker and a colourful scarf. The tuition is $115.00 per term.
MIXED AGES: 30 minutes once a week (Adult attends with child)
– No bored children in our classes!
– Our fun music and movement classes make learning a breeze.

Our Mixed Ages class will:
- Channel your child’s energy productively

- Stimulate language skills through rhythm work.
The Materials Fee $68.00 and the materials are used for terms 1 & 2. You get a high quality CD, a parent song/activity book and an instrument in a closable box. The tuition is $100.00 per term.
CYCLE OF SEASONS: 30 minutes once a week (Adult attends with child)
Our musical celebration of the four seasons includes:

PRE MUSIC MAKERS: 60 minutes once a week (Adult attends the last 15 minutes)
This class is specifically designed for mid to late year Cycles graduates and 4 year olds who are new to Musikgarten. Our Pre Music Makers class is only taught in terms 3 & 4.
In preparation for Music Makers Year 1, your child will:
- establish the beat with body percussion and instruments
- become more comfortable with his / her singing voice and develop its range
- express a story with their body and then on instruments
- draw, read and play graphic notation
- enjoy movement activities
- develop his / her focussed listening skills

MUSIC MAKERS YEAR 1: 60 minutes once a week (Adult attends the last 15 minutes)
In our Music Makers 1 class your 4-year-old child will
- Have lots of fun, learn easily and love coming to class each week
- Build confidence and self esteem
- Increase and develop concentration skills leading to a longer attention span
- Enjoy and discover the exciting world of natural habitats through songs, movement, dance, stories and poetry
- Develop purposeful, intentional listening that ties in with the context of the class themes
- Express activities and feelings through mime and drama
- Learn deeply by experiencing musical concepts through his whole body
- Play a variety of percussion instruments and widen his instrumental skills by playing in our ensembles
- Discover what music looks like and start writing and composing music

MUSIC MAKERS YEAR 2: 60 minutes once a week (Adult attends the last 15 minutes)
This class is for 5 and 6 year olds. It’s the perfect follow-up for children who have completed Music Makers Year 1. This pre-instrumental class lays the foundation for your child’s success in our keyboard class.
Your child will explore the music, dances and stories of different cultures. We sing, listen, play instruments, include lots of movement and work with tonal and rhythm patterns. Through echoing patterns, your child will build a vocabulary of musical phrases, which he / she can recognise aurally and visually, leading to an understanding of musical notation. By the end of the year, your child will have the musical foundation in place to move up to our Keyboard Year 1 class.
The Materials Fee is $70 per term and the materials include a CD, folder, notation games, song pages & view finder. The tuition is $220 term.
KEYBOARD YEAR 1: 60 minutes once a week (Adult attends with child)
Note: Keyboard or piano must be available at home for practice.
Our group keyboard class is an exciting musical journey that includes singing, dancing, drumming, musical games and playing the keyboard. In all our Keyboard classes (Year 1 – Year 4) we work on tonal competency through singing and beat competency through movement, dancing and drumming activities. We know that without sufficient movement experience, children do not have the foundation in body control and expressivity to play a musical instrument.
- This class features a variety of activities that lay the foundation for success at the keyboard.
- We build on songs the children love.
- And we use the aural (ear) approach, which will lead us to visual reading.

Year 2 of our keyboard method which refines the physical and aural skills developed in Year 1 :
- Introduces much loved piano repertoire.
- Develops and enhances comprehensive musicianship at the keyboard.
- Refines body control and ear tuning.
- Continues to build the foundation for life-long instrument playing.

Year four keyboard class will further refine your child’s physical and aural skills developed in previous years and will work towards Grade 1

- Develop and enhance comprehensive musicianship at the keyboard.
- Refine body control and ear tuning.
- Continue to build the foundation for life-long instrument playing.
- Practice, learn and play the keyboard with others and independently.
- A holistic approach to music learning: Listening, moving, and drumming along with keyboard work.
The Materials Fee will be advised and the tuition is $400 per term.
